Venus in Virgo in the Eleventh House

The placement of Venus in Virgo indicates a need to be discriminating in your relaties. A propensity to examine your values is also indicated. This often manifests as a need for perfection, either in your relationship(s) or in what you find yourself attracted to. Much of the behavior and many of the personality characteristics associated with Venus in Virgo are a result of this need to feel that everything is perfect or that everything is under control.

The Venus in Virgo placement is generally a comfortable one for the Venus-associated functions. This is symbolized by the natural trine between Virgo and Venus-ruled Taurus. However, the natural semi-sextile between Virgo and Libra, which is also ruled by Venus, indicates some opportunity for tension in the placement. Virgo is the Mutable Earth sign. The Venusian energy is symbolically constrained or channeled by the structured energy associated with Virgo’s earth element expression. Positively, the changeable earth element forms successive filters for the Venusian functions to operate through. Having Venus in Virgo, this filtering promotes the discriminating faculty so important in values formation and judgment. Thus, the value-forming and appreciating functions symbolized by Venus tend to be more pronounced in your psyche and personality than is the case for most people.

With Venus in Virgo, if you are insecure in your own selfhood, you require everything and everyone around you to exhibit the perfection that you know you are lacking in yourself.  If you would only see perfection reflected around you, you may be able to forget your own inadequacies. However, having Venus in Virgo, no one and nothing measures up to your high standards of perfection, and therefore a perpetual state of dissatisfaction exists for you. This is accompanied by a constant anxiety over the disappointments that an imperfect world will inevitably provide. Thus, you go through life, worrying, fretting and criticizing and never enjoying or appreciating anything.

As with many of the Venus house placements, Venus in the 11th House is harmoniously placed with challenging potential. The 11th House is in natural trine to the Venus-ruled 7th House, and thus the relatie functions symbolized by Venus are easy and accentuated. The 11th House is square to the 2nd house, however, which is also ruled by Venus. Here, the more personal-oriented evaluative functions of Venus may come into conflict with the socially oriented 11th House. For instance, having Venus in the 11th House, you may have a generous and humanitarian impulse, but with nagging doubts about the wisdom of giving too much. For the most part, however, Venus is comfortable with this placement.

Met Venus in het 11e Huis wordt je smaak ook volledig gevormd door de groep en oordeel je waarschijnlijk streng over meningen en levensstijlen die buiten de groep vallen.

Focus op evaluatie

Met Venus in het 11e Huis beoordeel je dingen over het algemeen volgens een groepsnorm of in termen van hoe het jouw relatie tot de groep beïnvloedt. Je vraagt je misschien niet af "is dit goed/plezierig voor mij?" maar "is dit goed/plezierig voor de samenleving?" of "is dit goed/plezierig voor mijn groep?". Je hebt de neiging om een breder referentiekader te hebben voor je evaluatieve functie dan alleen het persoonlijke. Met Venus in het 11e Huis kun je ook de neiging hebben om je oordeel te laten beïnvloeden door de groep waar je deel van uitmaakt. Je kunt je ook aangetrokken voelen tot groepsactiviteiten, humanitaire inspanningen of projecten die de samenleving ten goede komen en je zult waarschijnlijk veel waarde hechten aan zulke dingen. Je hecht waarschijnlijk meer waarde aan groeps- of sociale waarden dan aan persoonlijke waarden en je hebt waarschijnlijk een waardesysteem waarin het welzijn van het geheel centraal staat.
