Venus in Pisces in the Fifth House

The placement of Venus in Pisces indicates a need for universality in your relations and your value system. However, this ideal of universality is a difficult concept to actualize and, in practice, it is often manifested as ambiguity or confusion. Thus, you often feel a need for flexibility and the removal of boundaries or definition in your relationships or with respect to values. Much of the behavior and many of the personality characteristics associated with Venus in Pisces are a result of your need to return to a feeling of oneness or undifferentiatedness.

The Venus in Pisces placement is generally conducive, although there are some inherent tensions present in the placement. This is symbolized by the natural sextile between Pisces and Venus-ruled Taurus, combined with the natural quincunx between Pisces and Libra, which is also ruled by Venus. Pisces is the Mutable Water sign. Pisces’ watery nature is compatible with the softness and passivity associated with Venus. The Venusian energy symbolically diffuses to the maximum extent through the Piscean medium of changeable water. If your character is sufficiently imbued with substance, it is the positive qualities associated with Venus that are allowed to envelope you and those around you. If there is nothing to support the Venusian energy, however, then it is diluted and loses itself in an ocean of chaos.

Venus also symbolizes the anima in the psyche. Thus, if you are female with Venus in Pisces, you are likely to model your femininity in order to incorporate characteristics typically associated with Pisces. If you are male, you are likely to be attracted to someone who projects or embodies Pisces-associated traits.

Insécurités

As an individual with Venus in Pisces, if you are insecure, you try to bolster your ego and validate your selfhood through your relationships. Your ego feels as if it will be overwhelmed by the universal energy to which it is constantly being exposed. Desperately, you seek the approval and acceptance of others, to be included in their sphere of relation and, thus, given some identity. Therefore, with Venus in Pisces, you give yourself indiscriminately in relationships of whatever depth or permanence. Making yourself so vulnerable, you are often being hurt by others and constantly at risk of harm. To protect yourself from your own vulnerability, you may adopt a variety of negative defense mechanisms.  Frightened at losing all sense of self, you may become consumed with ensuring that your own needs are met within a relationship in order to assure yourself that your selfhood still exists.

Venus in the 5th House:

With Venus in the 5th House you are likely to enjoy a robust and expressive sense of beauty and relationship. The 5th House affords the Venusian function a chance to fully develop in elaborate fashion. Here, Venus’ energy can be completely expressed and developed to its mature potential. In the 5th House, your evaluation of your sense inputs and your awareness of and involvement in relationship become self-conscious, but in a fresh and innocent way. Having Venus in the 5th House, you not only become concerned with how you value and relate to your physical and social environment, but with what you can do with the Venusian function to embellish your persona. This involves a certain amount of awareness of how others perceive and validate your tastes and judgment and your way of relating. You will generally endeavor to display your most positive side in these matters, perhaps hiding your shadow to avoid disapproval.

As an individual with Venus in the 5th House, you can be expected to express your sense of beauty and form. Whatever your tastes, especially in the arts, music, drama, poetry, etc., these should be evident to those who know you, for they will be expressed. If you have any talent in these areas, you will probably try your hand at artistic creativity. Having Venus in the 5th House, you will at least wish you could express yourself creatively and will likely appreciate those who do.  You are also not likely to be shy about expressing your opinions about what you dislike or find ugly.

Insécurités

With Venus in the 5th House, if you are inwardly insecure, you will be unwilling to surrender yourself to another, or to purify your values so that they are selfless. This will lead you to hold back your self-expression. The values that you do express will be false and superficial. Your sense of beauty will be flawed by selfishness and your taste will be for show only – an attempt to gain others’ approval. Overcompensating for your insecurity, you may be vociferous in expressing your likes and dislikes but you care neither for the sensitivities of others nor for your own true affections.

In relationships, with Venus in the 5th House, you will hold yourself back, fearful that what you express may be rejected. Out of timidity, you may also fail to express your tastes and preferences. You may therefore appear to others to be a shallow personality, without passion, without a sense of yourself and without much to give in a relationship.

You are likely to be particularly appreciative of the artistic expression of form, beauty and harmony. In fact, more than others, you are likely to be sensitive to the form inherent in a work of art.

Having Venus in the 5th House, you may also be very focused on expressing your judgment and taste. You are likely to make known to others what your likes or dislikes may be. This may be done directly (verbally) or indirectly through an open (sometimes ostentatious)  display of taste.
