In the magnetic, flamboyant sign of Leo, the Moon’s power is positive and robust, and even its dark side is less dark than in other signs. Leo is a wonderful placement for the Moon because it gives great warmth and stability to the Moon’s influence; it also imparts an idealistic quality. If you have your Moon in Leo you have strong emotions and can be reached through your heart rather than your head. Having your Moon in Leo, you are a quick and accurate learner when your feelings are involved. But if a subject does not arouse your affections, you have no interest in exploring it further. The sensory impressions you receive from the world around you come to you on an emotional level. With your Moon in Leo, in order to make you change your mind, someone first has to change how you feel.

As an individual with your Moon in Leo, one of your most striking characteristics is a refusal to be hampered by other people’s rules. You tend to be extremely intelligent and are hospitable to new ideas, but you have little sympathy for petty or narrow thinking. Having your Moon in Leo, you like to be the center of attention and enjoy taking on public roles. You are highly expressive, and are especially drawn to the world of theater, music, painting, and the arts. In a way, it might be said that you, like all Moon in Leo individuals, have a “show biz” personality.

With your Moon in Leo, you possess a wonderful sense of humor and great personal charm, which makes you fun to be with. There is a sense of excitement about you. If nothing is happening that is interesting or amusing, you’ll try to create it. Sincere, open, very sociable, you have a way of lifting the spirits of people around you.

Moon in Leo individuals work very well in group enterprises because they have a talent for inspiring people to do their best. Your immediate reaction to a problem is to confront it rather than sit around moping about it. Being a natural leader, you often feel you have a mission in life. Sometimes you may become bossy and overbearing – you are an order-giver rather than an order-taker – but at heart you are so cheerful and enthusiastic that people find it easy to forgive you. Having your Moon in Leo, you have a fund of optimism and energy that others draw upon.

Having your Moon in Leo, vanity is your chief weakness; you are a sucker for anyone who can deliver an artful compliment. You always need an audience and are inordinately fond of attention. It must also be said that you will probably get more than your share of attention because your Moon in Leo imparts a lovable quality to your personality.

As an individual with your Moon in Leo, you are drawn to the luxuries of life – good food, fine wines, and striking clothes. You are an excellent host or hostess who delights in giving glittering parties. Unless Taurus or Capricorn is prominent in your chart, a Moon in Leo will always pick up the check. Fortunately, you usually are able to pay for your extravagant tastes.

In love, with your Moon in Leo, you are a great romantic, yet your flamboyant romanticism would never be sparked by someone who won’t make you look good. You need a partner who sets you off to best advantage and keeps up your image to the world. Your tendency is to put the object of your affection on a pedestal, to credit a lover with superlative virtues that may have no basis in reality. For the Moon in Leo, when a lover does not live up to your expectations you are disappointed – not only because you take love seriously but because your lover always becomes an extension of yourself, and his or her failure to be wonderful is very wounding to your pride and ego. Also, with your Moon in Leo, though you have a tendency to be jealous and possessive toward your loved ones, you yourself are flirtatious and a bit of a rover because you need everyone to admire you. You are an attention addict.

The sign position of the Moon describes how we habitually respond to other people and to the circumstances of our lives, as well as how we experience our emotions and seek emotional fulfillment. Its house position corresponds to the area of life in which we operate most unconsciously, according to past patterns and instinctive responses.

Moon in the 7th House:

With your Moon in the 7th House, you can usually develop and express your emotional, subconscious in relative security, if you have a trusting relationship. You are likely to experience an emotional fullness in your relationships. This is generally positive unless you are emotionally needy or emotionally irrational.

Having your Moon in the 7th House, assuming you are engaged in a positive relationship, this is an excellent venue for working out your emotional and behavioral/conditioned problems and attitudes. The Moon in the 7th House also may signify that you bring an intuitive, nurturing, and responsive energy to you relationships. However, with your Moon in the 7th House, you face the danger that in being too attentive and bound to the needs of others, you may become too reliant on others. You may also be susceptible to being conditioned or emotionally influenced by those with whom you have close relationships.

With your Moon in the 7th House, when you learn that your partner’s emotional needs are as important and valid as your own, you then strive to fully develop your emotional side in order to both share this with your partner and to be more sensitive to and responsive to your partner. This, of course, flavors all of your interpersonal contacts. Consequently, the impression that you make on others is of someone who has a warm, caring and open personality. This is an impression which is conveyed by the genuine nurturing and caring attitude that you have for others. With your Moon in the 7th House, you have a “sixth sense” that responds to others’ needs and creates a subconscious or emotional bond in your interpersonal dealings.

Insecurities

Having your Moon in the 7th House, if you do not have a well defined sense of your own self, you will be unduly subject to the influences of others. The Moon symbolizes an open window into the world of the subconscious. When that window is placed in the 7th House, it allows all sorts of influences to enter your subconscious and to become implanted  there to condition your behavior. You may feel that your own emotions lack validity. This results in you being ruled by the emotions of others. You respond to others without discrimination and, thus, become vulnerable to their exploitation.

With your Moon in the 7th House, as an overcompensating defense mechanism, you may try to impose your emotions and behaviors on others. You may try to control others or impose tradition-based behaviors on others – the stereotypical over-mothering attitude. Others may also perceive you to be emotionally aggressive, as you let loose your irrational side in typical “gargoyle” fashion.

Focus of Emotional Development

As an individual with your Moon in the 7th House, you feel those emotions that are symbolized by the Moon mostly through your relationships. You may bounce your emotions off your partner and discover your own emotional world by seeing it reflected in others. Your relationships become the venue for developing your emotional life. You generally are quite sensitiveto the emotional states of others and you easily respond to emotional stimuli.  This may result in an enhanced capacity for emotional bounding or you may psychically invite emotional dumping by others. With your Moon in the 7th House, there is a danger that your emotional life and development will be dominated by others.
