Mars in Sagittarius in the Fifth House

The placement of Mars in Sagittarius indicates that you are likely to have desires that are expansive and may even extend beyond your reach. Your actions are likely to reflect these desires and have a bold and outreaching quality. This often manifests in your having a restlessness of spirit and a desire to take actions that will bring you over the next horizon. Much of the behavior and many of the personality characteristics associated with Mars in Sagittarius are a result of your need for quest and for acting on a stage that is larger than life.

The placement of Mars in Sagittarius is generally harmonious. This is symbolized by the natural trine between Sagittarius and Mars-ruled Aries. Sagittarius is the Mutable Fire sign. The fiery energy associate with Mars symbolically blends harmoniously with the restless and changeable fire of Sagittarius. This enhances the active element associated with Mars, giving it strength and enthusiasm. Action can be taken in either direction – toward the world of ideas or toward the world of the senses. A danger inherent in this placement is that the “wild” nature of the Sagittarian fire could result in you lacking control over your desires and actions.

You may also enjoy working with children in order to express and channel both your own and their creative energies. Having Mars in the 5th House, you may see what you do as saying something about yourself. You will therefore, generally care what others may think about your actions. This concern may provide you with an element of caution and a check on your otherwise free expression. As an individual with Mars in the 5th House, you are likely to want your actions to be appreciated, not condemned. At any rate, you are likely to feel that you have a lot of energy to express and be willing to assert yourself openly in order to express yourself.

Insecurities

With Mars in the 5th House, if you are inwardly insecure, your prime concern will be to be recognized and respected and to have others pay attention to you. Consequently, your actions will be directed to achieve this result. You are always calling attention to yourself by what you do and you are not satisfied unless what you are doing is in the limelight.  If no attention is being paid to you, your existence and individuality are not being validated. You will usually respond by insisting to be noticed.

Having Mars in the 5th House, you may be so insecure about your worth that you totally avoid attention at all costs and becomes uncomfortable if you land in the spotlight. You may appear shy, bumbling and hesitant to take action. Often, however, this is an attention-seeking ploy. You secretly hope that someone will notice you, even though you are frightened by such an event. You desire to be recognized and appreciated, but if you are not, you will settle for pity.

Focus of Desires

As an individual with Mars in the 5th House, you generally desire to express yourself and will also desire those things that display your creativity and express your self-identity. You usually will desire attention, in some form or another. Often, you will desire respect and recognition.  You also are likely to desire to engage in creation. You may desire children, or you may desire to take part in some creative activity, such as drama or artistic creation.
